Recently retired from a distinguished 35-year career with Wells Fargo and predecessor firms, Peluso worked closely with financial advisors, business owners and RIAs to help practices run and grow through operational excellence. His tenure included leadership of two divisions of the Independent Advisor Group — First Clearing and the Financial Network for Independent Advisors. He also served as Chair of the SIFMA Independent Firms Committee and as a board member of the Wealth Advisory Institute, making a meaningful contribution to the financial industry.
“We’re extremely fortunate to have an industry veteran and thought leader like John Peluso join our firm,” said Thurston Springer Chief Executive Officer Rick Parker. “We believe with John’s knowledge and reputation, along with our national footprint and nimble wealth management platform, we’re making Thurston Springer a destination for sophisticated advisors and their clients.”
“After helping hundreds of financial advisors over the past 25 years become independent business owners, it’s been a long-standing dream to sit on the other side of the table,” states Peluso. “The opportunity to join Thurston Springer came at a perfect time. They run an outstanding business with a strong history and a bright future.”
In his new role, Peluso will focus on strategies to support the firm’s brand and market awareness, advisor experience and continued growth through recruiting, RIA M&A and minority investment activity.
